GENERAL CONDITIONS of the CONTEST


Who can become a contestant?

All designers and students of Art and Design schools between 18 – 33 years of age may participate in the Contest.

The participation in the JEANSATION International Contest is free.

Contestant must present his sketches for this Contest under his own name.
Contestants are not required to have any formal confirmation of their design education.
Contestants must accept all Conditions for participants, supply all required documents, designs and garments no later than 90 days before the International Finale in Monte-Carlo.

The processing


  • 1 - Registration.
    Registration of participants is open
    The Fashion Schools have to confirm their participation in the International Jeans Contest for young designers by the 15th of October 2011.
  • 2 - Pre-selection of designs.
    All participants must prepare their own collection of sketches (designs), which are specified by JEANSATION: go to SOURCE OF CREATIVITY and JEANSATION AWARDS in order to see the categories of the garments and get some creative ideas.
    The school’s instructors can advise their students – participants how many sketches they can include in their collection (limited to 5 designs-“looks”).
    The pre-selection file includes:
    • 1-5 designs (A4, hard paper). You are free to choose any technique of illustration
    • A brief description of the materials, fabrics and trims which can be used for each design
    • Registration form, signed by the designer – participant This file must be received by JEANSATION Office in Monaco before the 1st of December 2011. For the Registration Form please contact: contact@jeansation.com
  • All schools and young designers will be informed about the results of the Pre-selection of designs for the competition.
  • 3 - Creation of collections.
    All designers, who pass through the Design’s Pre-selection phase, must begin the Product development phase of their designs: look SOURCE OF CREATIVITY.
    All garments for the JEANSATION Contest have to be made according the French size 38, height: 177-180cm.

    When the collections have been completed a high definition photographs of each design is required.
    All pictures (CD: JPG only) and Presentation Form must be sent by mail to the JEANSATION Office in Monaco not later then the 1st may 2012.
  • All designers and schools will be informed about the results of the selection. The International Jury will choose the National collections from each country for the participation in the International Finale of the Jeans Contest in Monte-Carlo. Those designers, not selected for the Finale in Monte-Carlo, will receive a special Diplomas from JEANSATION in recognition of their creativity.
  • 4 - All designers - finalists who are selected to participate in the International Finale Contest JEANSATION in Monte - Carlo, must send (at their own expense) their collections and required documents (by special mail via TNT, DHL, etc.) to our Office in Monaco before the 1st of July 2012.

Collections will be not returned: all creative denim collections will become a part of the International JEANSATION collection (Principality of Monaco). This collection will participate in promotional activitiy and will be internationally exhibited in order to give professional "VISIBILITY" to young designers.

All participants should arrive in Monaco one day before the Contest (at their own expense). The details of this trip will be sent to each participant personally.

REQUIRED ADMISSION DOCUMENTS

To participate in the International Contest (IJC) in Monaco, each contestant is required to submit:

  • C.V. with a personal photo
  • Application form signed by the participant
  • Color designs (A4, hard paper). The designs will not be returned
  • Technical description and detailed explanation of the fabrication of all garments (English)
  • Collection created for the IJC
  • In case of the presentation of an evening garment - the contestant can exhibit just one model and one design
  • JPG photos of each model (registered on CD)
  • Contestants who travel to Monaco (Airport Nice Côte d’Azur, France) must have a fully paid “travel package” (flight, hotel reservation, insurance, etc.)

N.B: The Organizers will give official support to all participants, who need a French VISA for their trip.

JEANSATION 2 will take place in Monte-Carlo (the Principality of Monaco) in November 2012. The date will be confirmed by the 1st of January 2012.
